After days of institutional tension, San Lorenzo de Almagro issued an official statement confirming the leave of absence of its president, Marcelo Moretti, who has been accused of receiving a bribe, an incident that was recorded on video. In light of this situation, the club's Board of Directors decided to accept Moretti's leave and the resignations of three key officials: the 1st vice president Néstor Navarro, the minutes secretary Daniela Méndez Righi, and the deputy manager Pablo Levalle.
As a result of this restructuring, Julio Lopardo, previously a board member of the club, was appointed by majority vote as the acting 1st vice president. This decision was made in accordance with the club's Social Statute. Additionally, it was confirmed that the resignations submitted by the three aforementioned officials are final and will not be reversed.
The election of Lopardo as interim president was carried out following the procedures established in the club's Social Statute. Therefore, it has been officially determined that Lopardo will assume the position of interim president at this critical moment for San Lorenzo de Almagro. This change in the club's leadership occurs amid one of the greatest leadership crises in recent years, causing discontent among the members and requesting explanations regarding the current situation from the club's administration.
